Roles

Brand & Product Design

I joined the project at the design ideation phase and stayed all through to the launch of an MVP. For a period of 3 months, I worked with a team of doctors, dieticians, software engineers and PMs geolocated across multiple timezones.

About

Health • Lifestyle

Zest Monitor is a lifestyle monitoring and correction app designed for people living with diabetes.

It functions as part of a larger product suite created by Platos Health. Zest Monitor offers 2 separate apps for customers (patients) and healthcare providers (physicians, endocrinologists, dieticians, fitness coaches).

Wireframes

Zest Monitor matches prequalified health care professionals with the right kind of patients based on medical information provided at sign up.

Patients are then are able to interact in-app via video & chat with each member of their care team or the entire group.

Testing before going high fidelity

To further validate the design decisions we had made around layout, navigation and content, user testing was conducted, in-person with patients and remotely with healthcare providers.

Due to the availabilty of experts on the team, a combination of dogfooding and heuristic evalutation techniques were used. The heuristic evaluations were carried out using the low fidelity wireframes in order to quickly get valuable feedback. Insights uncovered helped to guide our efforts during design iteration and scoping for upcoming sprints.

Learnings

I learnt to be extra patient and more thoughtful because of the sensitive nature of the problem we were designing for. I also soaked up and learnt alot from the collective experience of members of the team.

There was no room for error or mistakes in design and code. Everything we did was backed by relevant data, verified and checked by the right healthcare professionals.
